At BMS, we offer a variety of Related Arts classes to enhance our STEAM curriculum:
Three levels of Band are offered at BMS: Beginning, Intermediate and Advanced. Students perform in at least two graded concerts a year. Students have the opportunity to perform in the State Concert Band and in the Solo and Ensemble Festival.
This course is designed to provide beginning vocal instruction and general musicianship skills for all choral students.Students perform in at least two graded concerts a year.
This course expands the student’s skills in Microsoft Office 2016
Students will learn the digital keyboarding skills necessary to be a 21st Century Career and College ready learner.
Students learn the parts and functions of a personal computer, fundamentals of computing, basic keyboard skills and the components of Google Applications such as Google Docs, Slides, and the Google Drive.
Students will learn the basics of Drama in this course. Students will learn about acting, movement, voice control, and theater vocabulary. They will present a performance in the Spring.
Students are introduced to the digital design process. Students will design webpages, videos, and other multimedia projects

Three levels of Orchestra are offered at BMS: Beginning, Intermediate and Advanced. Students perform in at least two graded concerts a year.
Physical Education/ Health
Students will participate in team and individual sports as well as fitness testing in alignment with the Physical Education and Heath Standards.
Three levels of Spanish are offered at BMS: Novice, Novice Mid and Novice Advanced in accordance with the South Carolina World Language Standards. Students advance in the skills of speaking, writing, reading, and listening to the language.
Students will explore concepts such as internet safety and app creation. The main focus of this class is the learning of coding skills through the GoogleCS First program.
Students will learn about artists and their art. They will use this knowledge as well as real world connections to inspire their own works of art based on the elements and principles of the art design process.
